Spectators and Family
Spectators: (Watch for runners and drive super slow) If you hike any trails at certain areas make sure to give way to the runners. The Park Ranger will ticket speeders. Stay away from the covered bridge aid station area. Do not park at the covered bridge and or the fire tower. You may park opposite of Covered bridge Aid Station across river and wait on that side. Runners will come through this three times. Runner will be DQ'd if you violate this. I have been yelled at by the Park Rangers and threatened to loose our race permit. This is your warning. Do not park at the juvenile place this year.
Course and Maps
Course Markings: All course marking will be on your left on the direction you are going. Out and back sections markings for return runners will mirror the other and placed on the left as well.
50K Runners will start at 7:30 am and follow the yellow flags then will follow the orange flags to do the Damn loop and back to Mohican Adventures. Once back into Mohican Adventures you will basically follow the start of the course backwards into the start finish line (blue dots on map and yellow flags in race). You will have signs and flags to remind you to go "up the hill". You will get aid and turn around and go right back out repeating the first loop following the yellow flags (minus Damn Loop) to the covered bridge and you will then follow the orange flags back into the campground and "down the hill" to the finish line. We will have signs reminding you. 25k will start at 8:00 am and will do the 1st loop previously described but will go "down the hill" to the finish. Trust me you will not get lost. Map for 25k and 50k
The course color coded utility flags will be every 1/10th of a mile and every 5 ft at turns.

This sign (below) will take you to the parking. Do not enter campgrounds to find parking. Parking will be just north and adjacent to the Mohican Adventures Campground. Once more the parking location is at Twp Hwy 3044 Loudonville Ohio.
Bad Weather Lighting Floods
Race Postponement due to extreme rain or lightning will be time delayed or moved to a different date. 50k will first try to be moved two weekends out and then each weekend thereafter until conditions improve. No refunds will be given if you are not able to attend the rescheduled date.
Email me if you have any questions Please contact the race director(s). Mark Carrol or Chad Heald at chadheald@mac.com
REST ROOMS: There are several restrooms along the course. Please keep your eyes open for them! Please know that, due to the time of year, the only restrooms open will be "pit" style commodes. We have decided against using chemical toilets due to toxicity, odor, and expense. Lines may form. Please plan accordingly.
DROP BAGS: An area for drop bags is available at the Start/Finish/15 (ish) Mile mark. Bring your drop bags with you to the start of the race. If you place large, readable numbers on your bags we will be happy to organize them and assist you in finding them. Please collect your belongings at the finish. We are not responsible for lost items and we will not mail drop bags or other items left at the race. Any items left behind will be laundered and given to charity.
REFUND POLICY: No refund of entry fees once you are registered for the race.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Should the race be cancelled due to inclement weather or the course closed due to hazards entry fees will immediately be applied to the follow year’s race. Entry fees will not be refunded.
DROPPING: Never drop out of the race by abandoning the course between aid stations and going “home.” If you must drop please report to an Aid Station or Finish Line. Runners who drop without reporting to an Aid Station or Finish Line will not be allowed to participate in this event in the future.
DISQUALIFICATION POLICY: The race cut off is strictly enforced. No runners will be permitted to leave from the Covered Bridge Aid Station after 4:00 PM. The aid stations close accordingly. If a runner is unable to keep the appropriate pace and is in danger of missing the cut off they will be asked to remove themselves from the race. This cut-off is in place for the safety of the runner as well as those who would need to search for runners on the course. If a runner finds him or herself off the course they must return to the place on the course where they left the course and proceed from that point forward. They may not accept a ride back to the point where they left the course.
LITTER: If you litter you are disqualified forever. We are not joking, and we will enforce this rule. We know that in road races runners simply drop their cups and goo packets as part of the normal culture. And that’s fine for road races. But in trail races this is very harshly discouraged. If this is your first trail race please be aware that all of the cool kids never litter. Ever.
ALCOHOL ON COURSE OR IN PARK: Look, we enjoy a tasty bevy as much as the next person, but rules are rules and ODNR prohibits alcohol in public areas in every state park.
ETIQUETTE: Remember that we are guests in the park. It is important that we demonstrate we are good stewards of the trails so that we can continue to have this event year after year.
PACERS: No pacers without specific permission from the race directors. We will only approve pacers in the case of runners with specific need of special attention.
*FAMILY/CREW/SPECTATOR ACCESS: There are opportunities for your loved one to view your progress and cheer you on. NO CREW/FAMILY/SPECTATOR PARKING AT THE COVERED BRIDGE!!!! Please remember that we are guests in the park and we wish to avoid illegal parking and traffic tie-ups. Failure to abide by these limitations could result in traffic or parking violations or disqualification of the runner.
